Every birthday has a history

The Born Story turns the day someone was born into a free historical story and a personalized printable poster.

What does The Born Story show?

Enter a birthday and a U.S. city, and The Born Story lays out that day: the weather recorded there, the Moon that night, who was president, what things cost, and how many people lived in the city and the country.

It’s their day, not just their year. The weather comes from a station’s log for that exact date, and the city figures are for that city.

Where do the facts come from?

From public records kept by agencies such as NOAA, the U.S. Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the CDC. Every card and every poster names its source and the year of the record.

How do you make sure they’re right?

We load each record from the agency’s own files and check it against the agency’s published figures. A person checks every historical event and famous birthday against a primary source before it appears.

When a record is missing, we leave the space empty or say so. We never fill a gap with a guess, and no fact is written by AI.

What happens to the birthdays people enter?

Looking up a birthday doesn’t save it. We keep a birthday only behind a share link you create, which is deleted after 180 days, or in a poster order you place, whose files are deleted after one year.

What doesn’t The Born Story do?

No horoscopes, fortunes, or predictions. No made-up “fun facts.” We don’t sell personal information.
